There is growing evidence that human resources are crucial to organizational success, and may offer the best return on investment for sustainable competitive advantage. The management of human capital in the current economy is a challenge all business professionals face. Employers should understand the importance of critical points pertaining to techniques how human resources meet the criteria for sustained competitive advantage in that they are valuable, rare, inimitable and non-substitutable. Employee selection process may well represent one of the most important human resources management functions. Employers differ in their use of employee selection methods to find out who is hired into the job, ideally reflect job-relevant decisions and the maximizing of critical knowledge, skills and abilities which contribute to an organization’s overall effectiveness. The assessment center method became in the last couple of years one of the most preferred methods. This method itself was widely acknowledged as one of the most trustworthy methods of employee’s selection. The following text elaborates on the analysis of psychometric features for the mentioned method with the focus to confirm and justify the appropriateness of its use for the selection process in the organization.
