Abstract 25 years have already passed since the formal change of the political system in Poland. During this time, there were radical changes in the structure of economy. Relations in the market of material and financial goods and in the labor market have changed. The education system and curriculum were considerably modified. The author of the present project asked herself a question: ‘Have radical changes in the organization environment affected the evolution of managerial competence?’ The attempt of answering such a posed question was based on the analysis of the subject literature and selected researches conducted in this field. The analysis of normative solutions determined by European and Polish qualification frameworks has shown actual trends in this scope. Under the conditions of technological progress, information revolution and hyper-competition which according to Richard D’Aveni means inability to maintain the competitive advantage (MacMillan, 1994:9), changes in the structure and content of managerial competence can be perceived.
Key words: managerial competence, process of transformation.
