ABSTRACT:
Performance-related pay is probably the most controversial element of performance management. Many human resource managers, and their line colleagues, feel uncomfortable about linking pay to performance. Several unions have policies that oppose it. But for every person who believes that performance-related pay cannot be part of an equitable, fair and effective reward system there is at least one who believes that without it no organization can hope to construct a reward system appropriate to the competitive world.
KEY WORDS:
HRM, performance-related pay, reward system, competition.
