ABSTRACT:
An organization performing in multicultural environment is represented by individuals who vary by culture as well as social and language differences. Therefore, one of the main tasks consists in integration and coordination of work of these individuals in order to achieve common success. Demands imposed on managers are increased mainly regarding sensitive perception of cultures, interpersonal relations, development of employees` potential and managing their abilities to achieve organizational objectives.
The article offers a short summary of differences between a multicultural and monocultural organization while a consequent research examines these differences in real organizations in Slovakia. The research aims to identify differences in a managerial profile in the two types of organizations and investigates potential improvement of knowledge, skills and abilities of a contemporary manager.
