ABSTRACT:
After gaining independence, Slovenian companies have been forced to increase their competitiveness. Therefore they have to examine all sources of gaining competitive advantages, including human resource management. The task is even more difficult due to many problems regarding the transition process to an open – market economy and due to the fact that the tradition of HRM has not been very rich. In this article we will describe major changes which have occurred with regard to HRM in Slovenia in the 90´s. We will try to provide a critical view of the current state of HRM, is most important issues and challenges, as well as suggestions for future developments.
